Without a doubt my favourite day of the holiday was our third day - our visit to Bath. Bath was about a 45 minute drive from Cheddar. We set off mid-morning, and after a little detour, we arrived in the city centre.
First stop on the agenda was brunch! After a quick google of some good brunch spots we settled on Wild Cafe, which was in one of the little streets just behind the city centre. It came highly recommended.
Rob had the English breakfast. It wasn't the cheapest of breakfasts but everything was fantastic quality and cooked beautifully. The bacon was some of the best we have ever tried. I opted the fruit pancakes - three gorgeously fluffy pancakes topped with banana, strawberries, blueberries and maple syrup. It was lovely but I could have done with lots more fruit. We shared a pot of breakfast tea.
After settling the bill we headed into the town centre. We were blown away by the stunning architecture. Bath reminded me a lot of Canterbury, but bigger and more beautiful. We managed to see a few of the sights including Bath Abbey, The Circus, and Royal Victoria Park. However, we were most excited to see the Roman Baths.

The baths were incredible! They are definitely worth a visit. There is also a museum within the bath with loads of interesting things on display. We resisted the urge to jump into the baths!
After visiting the Roman Baths, we headed into the town centre where there was a Christmas Market. The market was huge - probably around 200 stalls of homemade and unique Christmas gifts. We picked up a few gifts for people.
We soon worked up an appetite so we headed to the German sausage stall. We ordered big hot dogs with lots of mustard and ketchup. We washed it down with mulled wine and a mini mince pie. Drinking wine during the day - only whilst on holiday!
We had a look around the rest of the shops in the town. There are some lovely luxury shops in Bath.
We headed home mid-afternoon, back to our girlie. We took her for another walk, but we will share those pictures in another post as this is already pretty picture heavy. We will certainly be visiting Bath again soon, it was such a friendly, beautiful city and it got us well and truly in the Christmas mood.
