Borough market has been recommended to me many times before and lots of my favourite lifestyle bloggers have visited. It's an outdoor market with his predominantly covered with food and drink stalls. There are also plenty of street food stalls which is why we made the trip to London Bridge!
The plan was to do a loop of the stalls first and then chose what to eat. However as it was lunchtime it was so busy it was almost unbareable so we just grabbed food as we went. If we go back we will definitely go on a weekday.
The first thing we tried was a sample of paella. The paella was ok. However we did spot that they were serving squid. Squid is quickly becoming one of my favourite foods. The squid we tried could have been hotter (it was a freezing cold day and it pored with rain constantly) but the flavour was fantastic and it was perfectly crispy. I do wish there was more sweet chilli sauce though!
We probably should have saved the sweet treats for later but couldn't resist when we spotted some giant cookies. The cookies were soft, chewy and had the perfect amount of chocolate chips. It was the best cookie we had ever tried. We were happy sharing our giant cookie and decided to give the meringues a miss but they looked incredible!
Rob also had to try the salt beef sandwich. The meat was incredibly tender and delicious. However, we prefer our beef in brick lane bagels!
